The Hope Bargain Shoppe serves as Hope Mission’s thrift store and donations center. The store sells a wide selection of clothing and footwear for men, women and children, as well as a large variety of non-clothing items including books, games, music, housewares, jewelry, and vintage collectibles. The Bargain Shoppe features new inventory daily at exceptional prices, with all proceeds going directly to the work of Hope Mission.
The Bargain Shoppe is more than just a family friendly thrift store; it is also home to our Donations warehouse and Hope Mission laundry. Computerized, industrial-sized washing machines launder blankets, sheets and towels to provide men, women and youth using the Emergency Shelter and those men housed in the Herb Jamieson Centre, with clean blankets and towels each night.
Our primary goal is to find items among the donations that are useful to homeless persons.
In 2010 Hope Bargain Shoppe distributed:
- 13,750 pairs of socks
- 5,000 pairs of underwear
- 5,000 bars of soap
- 2,000 adult winter coats
- 2,000 pairs of winter gloves
- 1,500 toothbrushes
