HERB JAMIESON CENTRE

The Herb Jamieson Centre, 10014 – 105A Avenue, offers short term and emergency room and board to men with little or no resources. It is able to house 249 men in the spring, summer and fall. In winter an additional 70 men can be accommodated.
Over 41,000 bed nights were used in the first 6 months of 2010.

A nurse is available to provide medical care.

BREAKOUT RECOVERY COMMUNITY

The Breakout Recovery Community is a year-long, 12 step addiction recovery program which operates out of the Herb Jamieson Centre. The goal of the program is to provide men with supportive community, structure and accountability to help them make positive changes in their lives.

Men are admitted to the program on a continual basis and are provided with counseling, access to recreation and transitional housing.

In 2008/09 over 50 men celebrated at least one year in the program and in 2009/10 that number climbed to 80.

INTOX CENTRE

The Intox Emergency Centre provides men who are under severe influence of alcohol and drugs a safe overnight stay while their condition stabilizes.

The Intox Emergency Centre is open year-round, seven days a week from 8pm to 8am and provides sleeping space for up to 70 people. The Intox Centre provides 25,653 bed nights of safe shelter each year.

EMERGENCY SHELTER

The Hope Mission Emergency Shelter, 9908 – 106 Avenue, provides a safe place to sleep for homeless men and couples.

Offering practical, compassionate care and referral services to clients, the shelter is open year-round, seven days a week from 8pm to 8am and provides sleeping space for up to 200 people.
