About Volunteering

Volunteers are an integral part of Hope Mission’s ministry; they help foster healthy communities and their service encourages our staff and clients. Hope Mission benefits greatly from their service while volunteers gain a deeper understanding of inner-city life and the community we serve. For many people their time serving at Hope Mission is a life changing experience.

A volunteer writes:

“Thank you very much for the uplifting experience I had while volunteering at your Easter Dinner. I have always thought about volunteering but never seemed to find the time. But when I saw your ad in the paper I had this strong feeling that I just needed to do it! And I can’t express how glad I am that I did. It was just the thing I needed at this point in my life. It’s hard to explain to people how dishing up salad, filling juice glasses or even doing dishes can be so rewarding and make you feel so good inside. I know that in the very near future I will be making time to volunteer my time again.”

In 2009 our volunteers contributed an estimated 17,395 hours to Hope Mission, helping to further our efforts in Edmonton & Area.
