Women's Ministry
Women's Emergency Shelter
Hope
Mission Women's Emergency Shelter provides a clean, warm
environment for up to 70 women.
The shelter opens at 8:30 for intake and closes at midnight. Women are invited to come back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the shelter.
Drop In
We have a
small drop-in for women (capacity of
eight). The drop-in is open between breakfast and lunch.
Women who come have opportunity to shower, get clean
clothes, have coffee, and hang out. They can talk, read, watch
a movie, and get to know other women and form new
relationships.
Many of the women coming into recovery come through the drop-in.
Wellspring Recovery Community ...a place of support and care
With a
capacity for 24
women, Wellspring's live
in residence offers women who are caught in addictions an
intensive program structured toward personal freedom.
It is a one year program, divided into three
blocks. Through principles taken from the "Twelve
Steps" and the Bible, and through music, journaling, and
crafts, the program emphasizes the need for, and works
toward, a release from past trauma. Program
topics include codependency, violence and peacemaking,
abandonment, relapse prevention, boundaries, the "Purpose
Driven Life," as well as life skills development.
We work closely with AADAC and George Spady Detox Units, as well as Alberta Mental Health and family physicians.
